11-symptoms of your pregnancy

You may have come to know instinctively that you are pregnant. As you conceive, the fertilized egg gets implanted in the uterine lining of your uterus. This process is completed within about 10 days of your conceiving. You may be wondering why did you miss your periods? You may experience some or not all, but there are top 11 symptoms that pronounce your pregnancy vociferously.

  1. Nausea, morning sickness & vomiting

If you are a newlywed and someone in the family has seen you throwing out in a sink, it may become a breaking news. The news does not confine to your in law’s family, your parental family is too informed. Don’t get panicky, if they begin celebrating your “sickness”. Yes, nauseating, feeling morning sickness and vomiting often are common symptoms of your pregnancy.

Lucky you are if you would escape these entirely. In general, morning sickness is considered a symptom that is felt in the early days of your pregnancy.  You may begin feeling it when you are as early as four-to-six-week pregnant. Contrary to its name, “morning sickness” may  distress you at any time of the day or night.

  1. Itching or sensation in mammary glands

With the increasing amount of Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG), known as pregnancy hormones, the blood flow to your breasts also surges.  With this rush of blood, you may feel a weird sensation  in your bosoms. This is an early symptom of your pregnancy and generally comes to the notice within 7 – 10 days of conception.  With the body getting used to the pregnancy hormone, the itching or sensation starts subsiding and disappearing.

  1. Spotting and cramping

At the time of periods, it is common to see some spotting in your undies.  You may notice a slight pink or brown colored stain in your briefs, but no proper periods, it is yet another symptom of pregnancy. There are varied opinions on the causes of this kind of spotting in very early pregnancy days.  Some say spotting and cramping happen when the egg gets implanted in the uterus.  Others opine  this happens because of the hormones, such as estrogen, progesterone, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH) that control  periods.

  1. Swelling and tenderness in breasts

As your pregnancy progresses to about six weeks, your breasts get swollen, larger and tender to any kind of touch.  The tenderness makes you recall the state of your breasts before attaining puberty. If you carefully examine your breasts, you may even see blue veins under your skin. If you divide your pregnancy in trimesters, the swelling and tenderness bothers only during the first trimester and begins to subside as your pregnancy progresses.

  1. Upsetting tiredness

Right from the beginning of your pregnancy, you get to develop a veiled urge with you to support your baby. The surge of pregnancy hormones in your body plays a vital role in pushing you to feel tired and distressed.

Incensed at times, someone dear to you may become a victim of your emotional outburst. Don’t you worry, everyone will come to know about your state of mind. Exhaustion is a common pregnancy symptom. And, it bothers you the most during the first and third trimesters of your pregnancy.

As you reach the sixth week of your pregnancy, you may begin to realize that your visits to loo have become frequent. This happens because of a combination of pregnancy hormones. The volume of blood in your system gets increased and your kidneys begin working additionally hard. You have to be careful. In case of any kind of prolonged burning sensation while peeing, get yourself checked. You may have caught some urinary tract or any other infection.

With your pregnancy progressing, you may begin noticing some skin changes in many parts of your body.  Your areolas may get darker. Your mammilla bumps may also become more evident and erect. You may not notice, but the color of your  vagina may also begin turning purplish red.

  1. Food cravings

Increased food cravings are also a sign of your pregnancy.  Suddenly, you may begin hating a particular food and develop a taste or craving for others.  This most often happens during the very early stage of pregnancy, even before missing your periods.  This can happen very early for some women, even before missing their periods. Some of the pregnant ladies may develop an unpleasant taste in their mouth.  Others may not be able to stand the taste of a particular food or beverage they were fond of.

  1. Change in smell

Your nose becomes sensitive to all smells, especially to  food aromas and cooking. And, you become choosy to have a certain kind of food.

  1. Missed periods

Are your menstrual cycle has been quite regular and wondering why there is a delay this time?   You may go ahead to take a pregnancy test  before you begin noticing other signs. Missing your regular periods is the convincing sign of your pregnancy. And, what if your periods have been irregular in the past? Symptoms like swelling and tenderness in your breasts, besides frequent visits to loo are clues you can rely on.
