Clomiphene Citrare


Clomiphene citrate is used for treating infertility in females.   The medicine acts for stimulating a higher quantity of hormones that help in the growth and a mature egg release at the time of ovulation (if ovulation does not occur, it is called anovulation). It is not suggested for females, who are confronted with improper working of the ovaries because of ovarian failure or primary pituitary.

How to take clomiphene?

Side Effects of Clomiphene Citrate

  • Upset stomach
  • Pelvic/Abdominal fullness
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Tender breasts

  • Reduced urination
  • Chest pain
  • Abnormal or fast heartbeat
  • Swelling/pain/redness in the legs

There is a remote probability of your developing a severe allergic reaction to the Clomiphene medicine, but you are advised to seek a medical help in case it happens.  Some symptoms of a severe allergic reaction are:

  • Problem in breathing
  • Dizziness
  • Rashes/swelling/itching (particularly in the throat / tongue, or on the facial skin)

The Clomiphene citrate is not advised in case you have some other medical conditions without consulting the treating doctor before beginning to take this drug, such as:

Before beginning this medicine, inform your treating doctor all your medical history, particularly on uterus issues, like endometriosis and uterine fibroids and polycystic ovary syndrome.  The Clomiphene use may cause multiple births (triplets or twins).  For additional details, discuss it with your doctor.

This medication may make you feel dizzy and change your vision. Avoid the use of machineries, driving and other chores that require a clear vision and attentiveness until and unless you are pretty sure you can handle them with safety. Restrict your alcohol consumption.
