At the Blastocyst stage, it becomes easier for the treating doctors to select the best quality of embryos. Your treating doctors will not recommend undergoing Blastocyst transfer in case you produce less number of eggs. In that scenario, they will prefer IVF only.

As explained above, Blastocyst is an embryo that is cultured in the lab for five to six days after insemination. That means the embryo is advanced is to the day-6 stage. While reaching this stage, it gets divided into many more cells during this period. Blastocysts, having a very thin outer shell, have increased chances of implantation into the uterine cavity. Most blastocysts hold a fluid cavity and it is easier for the doctors to see and identify the cells that have the potential of becoming a baby.
As against a large chunk of 3-day embryos, only 40 per cent of these embryos develop into blastocysts. These select embryos have a much higher chances of pregnancy and, thus, have a higher live birth rate.

Many researchers are of the opinion that the conditions are more conducive for pregnancy at Blastocyst stage than the conventional Day-2 or Day-3 Embryo Transfer.
